Hot Spit: Lupe, Kanye, and Mos Def

This is an audio recording of Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and Mos Def freestyling at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York. The band accompanying the MC’s was The Robert Glasper Experiment out of Houston, Texas. Its moments like these that I love about hip hop. Though Kanye conveyed a tremendous amount of emotion and apparent reality in his verses Mos Def completely smashes the field. I prefer my "true" freestyles to have a consistent flow and to have competent and coherent meaning. All three performances were hot. However, Lupe needs to step his freestyle game up.
